YESTERDAY WAS THE LAST DAY OF CLASSES THIS SEMESTER... YEAH!!
So last night could have been the most random day ever. So, I finally went bowling... After the last time where bowling ended up as an evening at chuckie cheese! So, it was Isaac and I, Andy (Isaac's roommate) and Jen, Charlie (the guys Pi kappa big brother) and Ashley, then we met Nan there. Only everyone piled into my car because they were so wasted. So Andy was in the trunk and the others, except for jen, were loudly singing odd songs and poking eachother. Haha, then we got to the bowling alley after a very entertaining hour at wendy's!!! It was guys verses girls. So, Charlie decided it would be fun to throw the ball from really far back, and he got strikes that way. Not fair. The only strike I got was when we bowled in a line. I used my left hand, couldn't see bc Isaac's hat is too big, he was holding my right hand and nan's right hand. haha it was so funny. Then Isaac started hugging everyone, and he wouldn't let me go, and saying he loved me. Hmm. Drunken people are sure interesting.
So, when I got back, I went to Pluto Rocks with KJ, Jenn, Leigh Ann, and Alli. That band was amazing at cover songs. They played an amazingly large variety of music. I wana go back.
Well, exams start soon, but at least everything will be done by Tuesday and then Jen will be coming down. YEAH GOOD TIMES!!!!!

We all knew it was ensuing quickly, but I still don't quite understand it. Mrs. Peck collapsed on Friday and is now asleep with Jesus. That is an odd saying for someone who loved Jesus on this earth. Because we tell little kids that the dead are just sleeping, but as we grow and study the scriptures more, we learn that they are not asleep, but rather they are praising the Father forever. Everything that hurt her in this life, the pain she had to endure is relinquished and her body is made perfect in Christ. Mrs. Peck, though not my official grandmother, was much more than just Jen's grandmother to me. She was family, and not just family that I had to love because they were related, but family that I loved unconditionally and simply.
If you know me at all, you know I'm not the most touchy-feely girl in the world. I'm a big proponent of the personal bubble and always have been. But Mrs. Peck invaded and crushed my bubble over and over again, and in the best possible way. Since my junior year in high school, she took it upon herself to teach me to be a good hugger. She would hunt me down at each service and hug me, whether I stood there uncomfortably, or started to hug w/the 1-arm quick slap on the back hug. Eventually, I came around and searched her out, and hugged her: a real, and not-forced hug. I hugged her because she first hugged me... Whoa, She was showing me Christ even through something as simple as a hug. "We love because He first loved me" 1 John 4:19 (thanks for finding that Nan)!
So, I guess all I can do is miss this wonderful lady, and praise the Lord for the impact she had on my life. I can only hope to be as influential for the Kingdom of Christ as she was throughout her lifetime. Praise God for this women of the Lord.

Yesterday was so fun! Around 6, Isaac, Leigh-Ann (and her friend Suzzie), Nan and Wade attempted to go bowling, but it didn't happen bc no lanes were open, so we went to Chuckie Cheese WHERE A KID CAN BE A KID instead. Haha it was so fun. I beat Isaac at race cars, but only once... Then Nan and I danced w/Chuckie! So after that we came back, around 9 I guess. So, then I decided to actually go to Isaac's Pi Kappa Phi party. So, luckily, KJ and Leigh-Ann came! Yeah for awesome back up... my heros! But it was funny to watch everything that goes on there. We drank Dr Thunder and played cards while everyone else was playing beer bong, which I might add could possibly be the dumbest game ever! What's the point of throwing that ball into a cup? haha. Oh well, it was fun and amusing.
But here's the song I've been listening to lately, its called THE REASON by HOOBASTANK:
"The Reason"
I'm not a perfect person, There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go That I just want you to know
CHORUS
I've found a reason for me to change who I used to be
A reason to start over new and the reason is you
I'm sorry that I hurt you, It's something I must live with everyday
& all the pain I put you through I wish that I could take it all away
& be the 1 who catches all your tears thats why i need you to hear
CHORUS
I'm not a perfect person I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go That I just want you to know
CHORUS
I've found a reason to show a side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do and the reason is you

So, I just wrote all about that weekend w/Kristi and John and the comp lost the internet, and also the thing I was writing. So, basically we sat on some swings, napped, went to Dinner and kristi got crazy tired and was acting drunk!
Last weekend, I went home for Easter, which was nice. Can anyone believe that we have 2 weeks of classes left? what a fast year.
Well, I've just been busy lately with classes, homework, work, and playing softball. Also Nan got me to play floor hockey. It was fun, but prolly not something you should do with a cold haha. There were a lotta Pi Kappa Phi boys there, which was cool since I've been hanging out w/some of them lately. Whoa this year went fast...

This was the craziest weekend ever. Friday night, I went to the senior semiformal dance with Brian. Actually, it was really nice. Though it was like 40 degrees out and I had a sleeveless dress and sandals on and shivered, the ambiance was amazing. It was out on the cistern, and there were candles in all the right spots making it light enough, yet kinda romantically dark out. The dinner was amazing. Chicken, asparagus, salad, pasta... Oh oh oh and coffee! Luckily, after I was convulsively shaking from the cold Brian gave me his jacket. Afterward, we went and got some more coffee at Port City Java and walked around Marion Square even though it was like BRRR out. It was a suprisingly good time!
Friday/Saturday:
So John Parks and Kristi Kohl came down. Who felt the love? That's right, I did. They drove all night, and arrived in Charleston at like 5:30am. Whoa. So we napped for a bit, and then Kristi and I somehow ended up in the midst of the Cooper River Bridge Run, and got yelled at for not being official racers and in the way! Oops! :) So, we came back, and John was so cute sleeping we couldn't wake him. So we went to the Battery and waterfront park until he woke up. Then we all went to Folly Beach, brr it was cold. But it was amusing to watch Kristi kick the dead starfish, poor lil sucker! But a good word of advice: when there's a sign for FREE BOILED PEANUTS... STEER CLEAR! BLECK BLECK BLECK! What the heck was that trash? Not good. However, lunch at Sonic more than made up for it. Well must sleep, cant focus... But will write more about the good times later!

So I must confess that I have not been using this journal for it's intended purpose. I started it to write about how God was impacting my life... And the majority of the entries lately haven't been close to that. Maybe that, in a way, depicts the journey my life has taken as of late. South Carolina is becoming more and more fun. There are a plethora of friends to hang out with, homework to keep me busy forever, and then a job on top of that. So, in a way that's great, life hasn't been spiraling out of control like a plane in a deep unrecoverable spin, which is quite nice. However, it also has caused me to become complacent. That old lie, "I can take care of myself" has been whispering itself continually into my ear and I have been listening. But the funny thing is lies are always wrong, even if it does seem like "I can take care of myself." Jesus is the Sustainer. He is the only reason that anything is ok. On the radio "I've always loved you" by Third Day came on. The lyrics really struck me...
"Don't you know I've always loved you, Even before there was time. Though you turn away I'll tell you still. Don't you know I've always loved you and I always will. Greater love has not a man than the one who gives his life to prove that he would do anything and that's what I'm going to do for you" God loves me even when I turn. He stays the steady constant, while my life ebbs and flows like the waves. I've always seen myself as a very solid person, one who wouldn't waver and though outwardly I can appear steadfast, inwardly its all brokendown. But, to use more Third Day lyrics: "Set this place (my heart) on fire, Send you spirit, Savior. Rescue from the mire, Show Your servant favor. Yesterday was the day that I was alone. Now I'm in the presence of Almighty God and yes our God, He is a consuming fire!!! And the flames burn down deep in my soul. Yes our God He is a consuming fire He reaches inside and He melts down this cold heart of stone." That is my prayer. Dear Father, reach into my heart and change it from stone into one on fire for you, Lord. Let Your presence be seen and known to and through me. Take my supercilious mind and make it all about You, because in Truth it is all about You, Jesus."

A great Toby Keith song. Read the lyrics and see if it applies to you. Thank anyone you know who is in the military for their sacrifice!!!
I'm just trying to be a father, Raise a daughter and a son,
Be a lover to their mother, Everything to everyone.
Up and at 'em bright and early I'm all in my business suit,
Yeah, I'm dressed for success from my head down to my boots,
I don't do it for money, there's still bills that I can't pay,
I don't do it for the glory, I just do it anyway,
Providing for our future's my responsibility
Yeah I'm real good under pressure, being all that I can be,
And I can't call in sick on Mondays when the weekends been too strong,
I just work straight through the holidays, and sometimes all night long.
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door,
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey I'm true down to the core,
And I will always do my duty, no matter what the price,
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice,
Oh, and I don't want to die for you, But if dyin's asked of me,
I'll bear that cross with an honor, Cause freedom don't come free.
I'm an american soldier, an american,
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand,
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right,
I'm out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight.
American soldier, I'm an American,
An American, An American Soldier.

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!!!
So spring break is over and I've been back in Charleston for a few day... and this is what's been going on:
Monday:
CAR STORY: Ok, so after arriving back on Sunday with Beth (haha good times) a car was parked in my parking spot. So I parked in another one of course. When leaving for class Monday morning, the car was still there in my spot. But when I got back from class... My poor Josephine was no where to be found. It had been towed. The company was going to charge me $150 to get it back! What the heck!!!! So after explaining to the company what happened w/a car being in my spot and all he gave it back to me for free. So I tipped the guy 20 bucks. Which was chill right? But my car had no gas in it at all. After the drive back, I pulled in and the tank was below E. Well, they took my civic way up past the Ghetto in N Charleston. AHH the car was sputtering as I pulled it into the gas station. I felt so bad for my lil baby. She drove me here safely all the way from MD and then I got her towed.
BBALL: The BCM Ballers had our last game on Monday at 10pm. We lost, but that's not the point. We lost by less this time than we did last time to this team! So it was a great game. Fun and entertaining, just like it should be.
SOFTBALL: OUR FIRST GAME IS TOMORROW. THURSDAY at 3:45!!! YEAH BUDDY!
ok that's enough rambling. nite

So today was pretty sweet!! Took the Z3 to the shop, and then drove it around for like 30 min or so. ahhh that car is so tight. Cant you all see me driving around in a tiny lil sports convertible? BC I def. Can! Then Julie and I quickly stopped by aacs to see some people. Then I watched TV and took a "nap." Ok, the nap lasted from like 2:30-6. haha yikes for sleeping tonight. Then momma and I went to dinner.
But the best part was probably just sitting outside starbucks w/Kristi just talking. I'm such a fan of being able to sit and discuss everything and nothing at all! But brr I was numb all the way home haha! Hey Kristi - the Jack Johnson CD's are so tight!
I am so excited for tomorrow: haircut day! haha. Hope everyone is having/had/ or will have a great spring break!!!!
I just want to clarify yesterday's post. Karen, if you have checked this, I was frustrated about how the situation went down yes, but I do still hope that you 2 had a good time and that you have fun at home!

Hmm.. SPRING BREAK!!! So Karen was here with me for some of it. Today we went to Baltimore and walked around. Kinda chilled in Barnes and Noble and then went on board a lot of the ships there. On the TARNES (coast guard ship from pearl harbor) a guy from the NTSB was saying how they still haven't found the bodies from the water taxi that flipped in the Inner Harbor on Saturday. Sketchy. So then we came home just in time to go off to TGIFriday's with my parents. Haha, they drilled her on Africa with 1,000's of questions. It was kinda funny to watch that. I'm so glad she came and got to see the real me. It's kinda different from the Charleston me! My dogs liked her too which was fun!
However, today ended on a different note. Josiah called about when to come get her, and ended up convincing her that he should come tonight. So, of course, she did what he wanted. It was like 11 and I was in PJs and it was just kinda rude and insensitive. So I'm upset, yeah, and frustrated. Kinda feel shafted. Irritated. But I am praying that God will take this anger and hurt I am feeling and get rid of it. Because anger can do nothing but harm. While she was upstairs packing, I just sat downstairs and talked to Nan who helped point me to the Lord. So I just prayed to Him, seeking His advice. He was completely with me when I went up to her to talk... Because everything I said was not something I would have normally said. I told her I was angry and that I hope its not unrepairable anger. Also that I would do this for her because she is my friend and its what she wanted. Finally, that she cant be mad at him (like she said she was) because ultimately, it was her who made the decision to allow him to come. So, continual prayer for this friendship would be much appreciated since it is one that I want to keep growing. I love her, you know, and she was upset about how she abruptly left me when we drove up to meet Josiah and was confused about how to handle that relationship. So hopefully she can just figure out what she wants to do with herself and that God will just use me in anyway needed to be whatever she needs me to be!!
So this is a long entry, sue me! I have a lot to say! :) Mom let me drive the Z3 CONVERTIBLE ON SUNDAY!!!!!!!! SO MUCH FUN! I get to drive it again tomorrow bc it needs to have its belts checked, but who cares the reason, I GET TO DRIVE THE SPORTS CAR!!!!!! Did anyone notice that the mints from TGIFridays have funny sayings on them? Like: "Your friends will thank you for this" "don't drop me outside. I have being run over" and "Yukon I could have ended up on a pillow" That seems to me to be just the oddest/funniest thing ever!! haha makes me laugh. Well time for bed. til next time...

I dono, It's about midnight, so whatever you wana call it is fine. But ITS SPRING BREAK! I've been home since Friday night. I love home, and I love my puppies. It's nice to be back to a place I know so well and fell just comfortable in. Karen came up with me. She's staying til Tuesday. Saturday we went and walked down Main Street, then it poured, and I mean POURED so we went to the mall, but of course the sun came out then, so we went back downtown and went onto the Naval Academy and she now understands why I cant even compare the Citadel guys to it. Not even a possible comparison. Today we went to church then to DC w/kristi. It was a blast, getting lost in the ghetto (whoa!!!) and then going up the Washington Monument for the first time. Though I have to say, Karen knew more about the city than Kristi and I did, and we've lived here forever... Sad! :) Ok, well I'm pretty tired, but just wanted to give an update on the break! til next time...

The song LESS IS MORE by Relient K is so amazing. It's like everything I want to tell to the Lord but cant put into words. So here it is, hope it touches you like it does me:
Jesus, I pray Take all my mistakes
Throw them away
Destroy them for my sake
Jesus, I call out 'cause I'm sorry Because I fall so short of your glory
To the best of my ability I'm practicing humility
And I lay myself before 'Cause less is more
CHORUS:
All that I have I lay before
With my pride on the floor
Cause to you less is more
All that I have I lay before
With my pride on the floor
Cause to you less is more
A part of myself All that I am
You love me so much That you fill me again
And may these words on my heart, on my lips
Somehow mean so much more than this
Jesus, I pray Know what I'm trying to say
CHORUS
I pour out myself, before you O Lord
I hold nothing back, 'cause to you less is more
And may these words on my heart on my lips,
Somehow mean so much more than this
Jesus, I pray Just know what I'm tryin' to say
Jesus, I plead Please purify me
Make my heart clean Drench me with your mercy
Jesus, I pray I love you, I need you
For the rest of my days I swear I will seek you
To the best of my ability I'm practicing humility
And I lay myself before 'Cause less is more.

TOP 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT MY ROOMMATE: (I'll try to keep it as short as possible)
1. She might actually be stupid, as in lacking common sense.
2. Doesn't know how to clean at all.
3. Watches TV 24/7, I mean gesh a whip, get off your butt occasionally.
4. When the TP roll has 1 square left, PUT A NEW ROLL ON.
5. As much as you think I like it, cleaning your poop off the toilet seat is not my favorite activity.
6. Is the only color in the world pink?
7. When did it become cool to slam every door when I walk into/out of a room?
8. Do you have to scratch all my pots and pans, then leave them dirty for me?
9. Toe nail clippings all over the living room floor... Need I say more?
10. Apparently I'm intolerant BC I don't want to hear sex going on next door!
A BONUS ONE: Love how she totally ignores me all the time. It's like I don't even exist, then of course, that's all my fault too! Oh how I love living with Kelli!!!
Well, that was me venting. This post should probably be erased soon, but I hate to write it for my own sanity!! Whoa, this is the most mean post ever. Not quite my normal self. But sometimes you reach a boiling pt, and I'm way over it!

I started work this week. East Bay Coffee House. Its really nice, like a high-end shop. Not too busy, not too slow. And its nice to have a job, something besides school that I'm expected to do!!
Heather had a new baby girl on Wednesday at 2:00pm. Jerusha Cathleen Jonsson, but she's being called Shae. I visited them at the hospital yesterday and they let me hold her. She's so tiny and precious, just under 5.5 lbs. She was sleeping and had lil long dark eyelashes and you could see the wisps of dark hair under her lil cap. A dark haired girl and a blonde haired blue eye Boy. Yeah, they think Jonas has pink eye. Joy, who spent all day with him Thursday? haha
So I've been thinking, yeah yeah not a good thing to do, but it happened just the same. People are so strange. You follow the law and are called "narrow minded" Sometimes I think I don't understand. Maybe it makes them feel guilty for their wrong actions. And breaking the law is wrong, just because everyone does it, doesn't make it right. Hebrews 10:32-33 is a great comfort in this matter. "Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insults and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated."
Does anyone know why immaturity runs so rampant? Is it really that hard to simple take responsibility for yourself and your actions? Maybe I was just brought up to think that my actions were a result of myself and not others. This quote was pretty awesome "Immature people become angry at other people. Mature people become angry at wrong words, wrong deeds, and wrong thoughts." Just a little something to ponder, bc its true. Instead of seeing the wrong in yourself you have to point to others. Its just like "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye."
Luke 6:41-42 Man the Bible really does relate to every situation we go through. How amazing is that?

This was such a great weekend. Thursday night my momma came! Friday we shopped and then went to California dreaming w/Karen. Saturday was valentines day... And what did we do? haha, we did nothing even remotely valentines day-ish. We shopped more, BC we're good at that. Then that night, we went to Burger King and saw Calendar Girls... Such a funny movie. "We aren't naked, we're nude. Nude is art, while naked is trashy" oh I was laughing so hard. Sunday was church and seeing Heather, Ben and Jonas. Her baby is coming Wednesday, yeah yeah yeah! I get to hang out w/yet another lil Jonsson! Then we went to California dreaming again and I went to play bball. Oh course on the only game she gets to see of me this year, I sprain my ankle. But its ok. I'm just glad she could be here. I love when she comes to visit. I think I don't realize how much I miss her until I see her again! Well, more to come tomorrow or soonish...

So Yet again, kristin has written a poem that I must share: Hope you enjoy...
The tears they fall on their own
Each one representing the ways I have grown
Rinsing away the old actions, emotions, thoughts,
Why were these tears even brought?
Why must growth be represented in such a painful way?
Why do we learn how not to be by being?
Why learn by doing, when we can learn by seeing?
By not doing we learn.
Or is it, by not doing we yearn?
Yearn to do.
Why do we yearn to do then learn to not?
Memories of one or the other are evoked
Either way with tears we are choked
What an odd way to live,
To hurt to do things we desire
But also to hurt over fulfilling those desires, to hurt over those experiences we acquire
To have gained the knowledge we have gained
To experience the pain we have pained…
But life would be nothing without those refreshingly cleansing tears
And those fabulous growth spurting fears
If we didn’t cry, we’d have nothing to cry about
Our hearts wouldn’t be so strong or stout
Nothing would provoke emotion if we had none.
There would be no sadness
But that means no bright happiness or gladness
We need these tears and fears, the tough learning, the aching yearning
That’s what gives us life, this insatiable desire to experience filled burning
We need the bad to have the good, we need the dark to know there is light
We need the wrong to make things right.
Well, I'll write something of my own later, but ponder that, bc its amazing!

I'm supposed to put in something short, to the point, and introspective. So demanding! I guess really what I want to say is that "Summer of 69" is a fantastic song! Maybe not introspective, but with someone on helium talking in the background makes it a little hard. So if you ever want a good time, buy Christy a helium balloon and have her sing something from Wizard of Oz (aka, the lollipop song). Other thoughts? The Lollipop Guild can't be half bad if Christy's a representative. YEAH, BABY. Also, if you're in Maryland and reading this, lucky you because Karen's coming for spring break. Also, they anchor helium balloons with cement rocks. Little weird. Maybe more later, bye.

I was reading Nan's zanga page earlier today and she had this thing written about what she wanted people to say about her if she died; her reply was awe inspiring and made me want to delve into the Word more. Well, when I do finally pass from this life I want people to say "Christy was a woman who sought the Lord. She strove to learn and share the love of Christ. Through humor and quiet compassion, pointed people towards the cross." that's it, simple and to the point. But, would everyone I know say that? Because that's how it should be. Whether they are Christians or not, they should say the exact same thing about my life.
Tonight's BCM message really stirred that feeling in me. In Acts 4:23-31, Peter and John had their life threatened. If that happened to me, I'd be running and retreating away. Yet, those men prayed scripture and asked the Lord to allow them to continue speaking the Truth with Boldness. While sitting there I wrote that: "I want to be a bold woman proclaiming Jesus to the Lost world around me, not just today but my while life." We have so many opportunities to proclaim Jesus on our campus' and with friends but, I for one, am terrified to do this. Jesus, please give me the courage to spread your truth throughout this world, one step at a time.

This was such an amazing weekend! Friday, what did I do? Oh right, I went ballroom dancing and then to dinner with Brian. He's such a shy boy. But the shyness was kinda sweet. The waltz was so fun (1, 2, 3... 1, 2, 3) ahhh. I'm actually gonna start taking dance lessons, YEAH! Then Saturday was supposed to be my "do nothing day" haha well it was anything BUT that. I went to best buy and got a walkman to jog with and the new Kenny Chesney CD (oh so good). Then I got back just in time to go tour the Aiken House with Ashley and Rachel. Yeah for Jeff getting us in for Free!!! Then I went and saw MIRACLE... Which is good but not as good as Big Fish with Bridgit. And then I arrived back in time to change and go to the PLEX with the BCM gang. Haha way to get out groove on! Today it was so hard to get up to go to church. But afterwards the Shores took Karen, her dad and I out to California Dreaming for my bday! So good. Then Karen and I studied at Starbucks and it was probably the best time we've had together since we've been back. Talking and laughing, but having an easy flow and not being all philosophical. Eavesdropping on other convos, laughing at the lady who's pants did NOT fit at all, and then discovering MARVIN THE PARANOID ANDROID! haha. Well, I just want to thank everyone who was a part of this amazing weekend that flew by like none-other! Ok well, til next time...

The pensive mood has struck again. Life is getting much better here, yet I feel like I'm losing something too. I've become more outgoing in BCM, people who for some reason thought I was shy are seeing the real me. HAHA, for those who know me well, you know I'm not so much the shy kid I can appear to be! Playing bball, chillin with new people and going on that retreat have really helped incorporate me into the group and feel connected. It's like I run into BCM people everywhere... Yeah for taking over the campus!! However, I feel like I'm slowly losing the 1 valuable friendship I made here last semester. And not even really that I'm losing it, but that it's morphing into something different, something I cant quite interpret yet. For a while, we hung out constantly, and its like this semester, we don't need each other in the same way. I really hope that isnt the case...
A great Beatles song comes to mind:
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay. Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away. Oh, I believe in yesterday.
On a lighter note... Does anyone know what to wear to go ballroom dancing? Some have said "a skirt" and yeah, that's a big NO! :) Would anyone be abject to dress pants, platform shoes and a sleeveless button-down collared shirt?
Also, Nan went w/me to Kickin chicken tonight, bc apparently y'all think that it's a crime to have lived in Charleston for a semester and not have gone, well it was quite good. And... They played Beatles music the whole time, big plus!!!
Oh oh oh, my other big news: Mom is coming in like a week! So that should be way exciting.
